Program Details

A comprehensive three-year journey of growth and development in spiritual direction

Program Structure

The Spiritual Directors Learning Community is designed as a three-year experience. Participants are encouraged to commit to the first eight months with a view to discerning whether or not they would like to continue.

Monthly meetings are held from September to April with the same cohort.

SDLC Outcomes

Participating directors will:

  • Engage in contemplative prayer practices.
  • Learn contemplative evocative skills and practical tools to support those skills.
  • Engage in role play Spiritual Direction and supervision sessions in a safe non-judgemental space to explore and deepen skills and techniques.
  • Bring personal consultation questions for the community to explore together.

What To Expect

September to April

An SDLC cohort gathered for a monthly Zoom meeting
  • -Monthly meetings with the same cohort
  • -Suggested readings and recommended resources to supplement the teaching each month is available through the Google Classroom
  • -Zoom links sent out with pertinent announcements each month

April/May

SDLC participants gathered together at the annual end-of-year in-person retreat
  • -An end of year in person retreat where each cohort (and our growing alumni community) gather together to deepen relationships, spend time “retreating” and celebrating our Year Three cohort's completion of the program

Post Graduation

Alumni are invited to continue in their cohort through a variety of opportunities, some of which include: continue meeting for support and encouragement, forming a peer supervision group, join our staff team, oversee planning and leading the yearly retreat, joining the Supervision program.
